Cost for this hood is high but it is solidly made, feels nice in the hand, and seems effective at blocking stray light. There do not seem to be third party alternatives available.

will the 95mm lens cap fit the outer ring of the HB-55 lens hood? If not, which size cap fits the outer opening of the HB-55 hood?
The Nikon HB-55 Bayonet Lens Hood for 85mm Lens is designed specifically for the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G Lens, B&H # NI8514GAF, and will accommodate the 77mm lens cap that lens uses. The hood is incompatible with other lenses and larger caps, but you could use the OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium, B&H # OPHHM4B, if you'd prefer a cover that would fit around the exterior of the hood.
