Although the size of the face is only 12 x 16", its surface is 32 times greater than the face of a typical shoe mount flash, and that results in a dramatic improvement in skin texture softening. The Extra Small LiteDome is lightweight and portable, giving you studio-quality lighting wherever you need it. it comes with a basic connector that is ready to accept optional accessories to support a speedlight, however studio strobes require separate purchase of a speedring for use.
This is a Photoflex Multiclamp with Shoe Mount is a versatile bracket that will fit on almost any light stand. It includes two removable, reversible studs to adapt to light stands with top studs smaller than the standard 5/8 inch. It also includes a shoe mount, which will accept virtually any shoe-mount flash unit.
NOTE: The flash shoe included with this product is only intended for use with flashes that have a knurled locking ring. For flashes that use a lever or other method of locking, it is necessary to buy an accessory flash shoe to replace the unit included with the clamp. The Stroboframe accessory shoe, catalog #300405, is recommended.
The Photoflex Adjustable Shoe Mount Connector for Small to Medium Litedome Softboxes accepts most shoe-mount flashes. It connects to a Photoflex, or Chimera Speed Ring, and allows use of that flash with a 12x16" softbox.
The StarFire Digital Flash from Photoflex is a portable, affordable shoe mount flash with a guide number of 114', 3 different flash modes, and the ability to vary power in 1/7-stop increments. At full power, the StarFire recycles in approximately 4 seconds and it runs on 4 easily-available AA batteries. The head has a vertical rotation of -7° to +90° and a horizontal rotation of 0° to 270°. The flash duration varies from 1/800 to 1/20000 second. A built-in slave makes it ideal for off-camera use as well as on-camera purposes.
