Wacom KP300E2 overview

  • 1Description

For use with your Intuos4, Intuos5, and Cintiq tablets, the Classic Pen from Wacom is battery-free, cordless, and has a slim, classic design that does not utilize a rubberized grip.

A number of different features make this pen well-suited to drawing, erasing, and mouse operations. Two customizable buttons allow you to set right-click, left-click, double-click, as well as drag-and-drop functions to your liking. In addition, the pen is both tilt and pressure sensitive, so that you can capture very light or heavy pen strokes, as if naturally writing or drawing. You have the option to adjust these sensitivities as well. At the pen's lightest pressure sensitivity, it responds to as little as one gram of pressure and can register up to 2048 different levels of pressure.

Using the pen in a supported paint or photo program, these sensitivities come in handy for adjusting line weight, brush size, image opacity, or exposure. As a nice, added touch, an eraser crowns the top of the pen, so that you can digitally erase your work as you go along. In terms of accessories, included are two standard nibs, one stroke nib, one felt nib, and one flex nib. Also included is a pen stand that can hold the pen, some spare nibs, and the extractor (not included).

Sleek, classic shape and optimum weighting of the pen ensure a sharp look and a slim, free-flowing feel while you work

    Wacom KP300E2 reviews

Classic Pen is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from MMmm, Comfy! I've got three pens for my cintiq: this extra slim classic pen, a standard grip pen and grip pen with the extra fat grip on it... the latter was fantastic for when I had RSI and couldn't hold anything with conviction, but the classic pen is MY FAVOURITE. It's the most comfortable of the three. On having multiple pens: the wacom remembers which brush you had selected for THAT PEN. Especially useful in PAINTER where you can have one brush on watercolour, one as a pencil, one as oils etc. the erasers can all be assigned something too. It Gives a more analogue workflow for those who ain't into clicking icons every second or two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic pen shaped to the hand I managed to drop my previous Intuos pen in a bowl of washing up water! I hunted high and low online for a replacement and thankfully found this - I'd never go back to a mouse in any case so I was getting a bit panicked that Wacom might have discontinued it. This version is ergonomically shaped to the hand (the previous one was a single barrel) and much more pen-like to use. It gives more accuracy and puts less stress on the hand especially over sustained use. The package arrived, safe and sound, here in New Zealand very speedily and I was back up and running with my perfectly functioning pen (better than before even). And I must remember not to carry it about with me when I go to make coffee in future...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful alternative to the standard Wacom Pen The original Wacom pen felt too rubbery and too big. I used it for two years and just resented it. I wanted a plastic pen that was thinner, more similar to the old gray Intuos 3 pen. I got the pen and it's fantastic. It feels a little more lightweight and fragile in the hand, but that's ok. The standard pen feels clumsy in comparison. I wish I bought this pen two years ago when I got my Intuos 4. It also works for Intuos 5. The button is a little higher on this pen for some reason, but that's ok. It feels great, works great. Worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great deal I have been a graphic artist for the last 15 years and use a wacom. My son destroyed my intuos4 pen that came with the tablet so I bought this to replace it. It is a little thinner than the original but has less friction and is lighter weight, which I like and I got it at a good price. I totally recommend wacom to everyone using a computer. I had severe carpal tunnel several years ago from my work and switched from a mouse along with 2 months of physical therapy. Now I am fine using the pen for everything and couldn't go back to a mouse if I wanted to. The pen is a perfect replacement for the one that is packaged with the intuos4. I found the best price at B&H with next to nothing overnight shipping. A+

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No longer worth the price The original pen died a little over a year after getting my tablet and now this one is starting to act odd. I've always set the bottom toggle switch for right click in all apps. and option/alt click in photoshop. Whenever I use the pen it will randomly start right clicking without hitting the button. Eventually it will get stuck in right click hell and the only way to disable it is to unplug the tablet. I have now disabled the toggle switch but that is not a proper solution. I'm sure it is only a matter of time before it stops working. I have been using and loving Intuos tablets for over ten years but since getting the Intuos 4 I have been having nothing but problems. I just wish there was an alternative to Wacom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good, affordable replacement pen The grip pen for my intuos 4 pad broke and I was in a serious need to find the least expensive replacement fast. I haven't used the classic style pen before, but decided to give it a shot, mainly because I was haven't such a hard time to find any intuos 4 pens in stock online. I'm pretty happy so far. It isn't as heavy and thick as the grip pen, but it's easy to get used to after a day. I was worried at first, when I got it, b/c it wouldn't work, but it was just b/c I needed to update the wacom program I had. Once that was done, the pen worked just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from reliable. many tips It is my second pen. It is more thin and I like it . great quantity of tips and solid. My last one was 4 years old but I step on it and broke, but resist numbers of drops and nothing happened before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels Great in Hand This classic pen is the upgrade Wacom should have included out of the box. It's more natural and feels like a more traditional drawing or painting tool rather than a fat marker. The stock pen is okay, but this just feels so much better and I feel like I have much greater control over it and it's easier on my hand. I've only used it for about a week, though. But so far, so great! $ seems like a lot of money for this and I hope it holds up well, but so far it's worth it because it's made using my Intuos Pro that much better. Worth the investement, so far.
