Wacom KP501E2 overview

  • 1Description

Battery-free, cordless, and outfitted with an ergonomic, rubberized grip, the Wacom Grip Pen is an all-purpose tool to be used with your Wacom tablet. A number of different features make this pen well-suited to drawing, erasing, and mouse operations. Two customizable buttons allow you to set right-click, left-click, double-click, as well as drag-and-drop functions to your liking. In addition, the pen is both tilt and pressure sensitive, so that you can capture very light or heavy pen strokes, as if naturally writing or drawing. You have the option to adjust these sensitivities as well. At the pen's lightest pressure sensitivity, it responds to as little as one gram of pressure and can register up to 2048 different levels of pressure.

Using the pen in a supported paint or photo program, these sensitivities come in handy for adjusting line weight, brush size, image opacity, or exposure. As a nice, added touch, an eraser crowns the top of the pen, so that you can digitally erase your work as you go along.

    Wacom KP501E2 reviews

Grip Pen is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Get the non-rubberized classic pen. I have been a Wacom Intuos user for over ten years, and when my poor original Wacom tablet finally had to be put to rest, I immediately got another as I have not used a mouse since getting one. I got an Intuos4 which was brand new at the time, and realized that while the tablet is fantastic, this particular pen that came with it did not match the quality the original Wacom series pen had. After 2 years the rubberized cover was stretching and getting in the way of the side switch; the pen easily came apart and parts were falling off the circuit board into my hand. I could not get the back end of the pen back over the circuit board to put the pen back together. I recently found out that the pen which is the same as the one I've had for ten years is now available (which wasn't when I first got the Intuos4), and I'll be purchasing that instead of this one. This pen is OK for someone who will not be using their tablet much, but if you are like me and use the tablet exclusively as a permanent replacement for a mouse, do yourself a favor and get yourself the Classic Wacom pen, also available here at B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wacom Then beat of the best. I've been using Wacom tablets for years. As a graphic artist and photographer, there is no way I can do my work with out my Wacom. The pen totally replaced my mouse for ever. If you are into art or photography, this is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Replacement Bought this to replace PTH-651 tablet. perfect. Prefer this version, the one that came originally with the tablet, thicker, heavier and good hand feel for working. Some of the new pens are light, thin and flimsy feeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement for lost pen! I bought this replacement pen for my daughter for Christmas. It worked right out of the box. (I asked her to test it.) She is so happy with it, I have not gotten the pen back. She has been using it non-stop and now she can use her wacom tablet again. She had lost the pen to it, making the tablet useless. She is very happy with it and hasn't stopped her animation drawing yet! This is the first time I've used B&H and it was a very good experience. I don't think I'm getting it back to wrap for Christmas. Looks like I'll just wrap the empty box!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Had to replace my original pen after dog chewed it up. Pen works the same, does not come with rings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I have used the pen that came with my Intuous 4 for illustrations. I now have a new job so I brought it to work for photo editing/cropping. Unfortunately I lost my original pen and bought this as a replacement. It works great and B&H got it to me fast. I highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but missing a couple things I really like the into us pens. But I wish the replacement came with the colored rings for the bottom of the pen that the original pen came with. Also it would be cool if it came with a nib remover although you can just use your teeth if you don't have one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great would have given it more stars, but its a replacement. these pens are very delicate do not try to open it your youll be buying another one like me. and its very costly to replace.
