Key Features
- 100mm Apochromatic Refractor
- 900mm Focal Length, f/9 Focal Ratio
- Proprietary MHC Multi-Coated Optics
- Schott BK7 and FPL-53 ED Glass
The EvoStar 100mm f/9 Doublet APO Refractor from Sky-Watcher features a doublet apochromatic lens system with Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass and Sky-Watcher's proprietary photon anti-rejection Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHC) on all air-to-glass optical surfaces. This combination of glass, lenses, and coatings virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations for clear and bright high-contrast images with true color rendition. This is a versatile optical tube assembly (OTA) that is well suited for wide-field astronomical observation of prominent nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, or can be used as an astrograph for sky photography, a terrestrial spotting scope or telephoto lens. The aperture of this 100mm model of the ProED not only increases image brightness over the smaller 80mm version, it improves resolution and contrast.

I have a Celestron 1.25" Adaptor for DSLRs. Will that work with this telescope? The model is 96325, and I have the Nikon T-ring that goes with it to connect my DSLR.
@Thomas, thanks - that was useful. Since you use this scope, I was wondering what mount you use. I have a Star Adventurer Pro and I'm worried the Evostar 100 + a Nikon D5500 body might be pushing the payload limits of the mount...?

Hello, just wondering why your photo of this scope is not showing Evostar 100ED and the symbol for Schott glass on the OTA as the Skywatcher site shows? This is misleading to a buyer and seems to indicate that Skywatcher has two OTA's, with one being some kind of generic brand. You should change the image.
The image B&H uses for the Sky-Watcher EvoStar 100mm f/9 Doublet APO Refractor (OTA only)
BH #SKPRO100EDAP • MFR #S11120 is taken directly off of the Sky-Watcher website:

would the celestron cg-4 mount be a good match for this telescope?
I was looking at the Q&As on the B&H CG4 page, a Celestron rep said the CG4 will support up 20 lbs. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what he said.
