S&F Slim Lens Pouch 55 AW is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad, but not what I was looking for. Was hoping to use this bag to carry a second lens (Canon zoom 55-250) when shooting with my DSLR (Canon Rebel XSi). When I received this item it was larger than expected - there was enough room that the lens would juggle around more than I liked. If I had a larger diameter lens, I would have kept this item. In place of this item, I will end up using the Canon case for my Canon Vixia camcorder. With a hood, my second lens fits snugly in the Vixia case and without a hood it is nearly perfectly sized. Bonus with the Vixia case is that it has a front pocket (but does not have an additional waterproof cover as this Lowerpro case does).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Bad, not great either I have this pouch on my S&F Technical belt along with the older model Lowepro 1 and 1W lens cases. While I like the speed of opening and closing via velcro, and that the pouch collapses when empty, I don't find it to be as secure as a zipper is when storing my 17-35mm f/2.8 or 85mm f/1.4. I have a nagging fear that if I have to break into a run, then the weight of a pro lens is going to pop the flap wide open and my lens is going to end up in pieces on the ground. Not how I envision a pouch aimed at the pro market to be made! It is, however, more than suitable for some smaller prime lenses, so long as the dimensions of your lens doesn't exceed 3 in diameter. My 50mm f/1.4 feels safe in this pouch, as does a 35mm f/2 - you get the idea. Just don't risk a $2000 lens to this pouch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh.. I bought this bag and a few others to go with the the utility belt. I have a Nikon 24-70 and bought this bag to use for it. I actually like the utility bag 100aw much better. There's one snap that closes the top of the bag and the sides are somewhat exposed. With the utility 100 it has a zipper which is fully enclosed and the 100 can be used for other storage ideas. If you are looking for a pouch for your 24-70 or 17-55 lens, buy the 100 Aw instead

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not My Favorite It seems durable and constructed of good material. But the design is flawed. I read the reviews before purchasing it and still bought it anyway. However, I must add my dissatisfaction to those who reviewed it and complained about the less than perfect seal on the flap. If it had a zipper in addition to velcro, I would like it. But it just seems so flimsy. I did feel comfortable with it and did not want to put an expensive lens in it and risk having it fall out. I brought it back for a refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dangerous Design, Bulky I bought this because I wanted to use it as a slip lock attachment for my toploader bag. I like the fact that it can collapse when not in use. I would not recommend this unit to anyone because it does not protect your lens from falling out of the case. The only thing sitting between your lens and falling on the ground is a weak strip of Velcro. This pouch is a lot larger than it looks and it should have at minimum a snap lock or a snap clip in addition to the Velcro. If you plan on wearing this on your belt or if you are using the accessory strap, then it might not be that big of a deal. If you are hooking this pouch to your bag, you should be very careful how you handle the bag because one wrong move and a heavy lens will probably slide right out. Also, the base of the pouch is not flat, it is curved. Your lens will sit inside at an angle. There is only protection on the bottom and the front, not the sides. If there was protection on the sides, the pouch could not collapse on itself. For the price, I say skip this and go with a standard Lowepro lens case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one yet. I use Lowepro cases exclusively. And this one could very well be my most favorite case yet. I keep my camera stored with a 70-300 lens, and attached to the outside I carry a 18-55 lens. But it was ways a pain to get the small lens out of the rounded case. But this 55 AW solved the problem. The lens loads & unload fast. Has a rain cover, awesome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I imagined Should have really listened to the other reviewers who were planning to use it in the same fashion as I had hoped! Would not trust it if I was carrying it around! Decided to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely made and does the job I use this on the field as the solution from switch lenses from my 18-105mm zoom to my 11-16mm wide. Does the job and keeps my lenses safe from weather conditions while on the move. The option to attach to a harness or photography belt is pretty awesome. I currently use the shoulder strap with caution. Does the job!
