The ones that come with the strap are long and hang if it is on a tripod and the wind induces vibrations. This along with the shorter loop straps minimizes that.

These are "OP/TECH" extenders, so I believe they only connect with their products and those specific widths.

Are theses compatible with the Pro Loop strap? Are they a shorter version of the extra long extensions both fitting the Pro loop strap?

Yes the OP/TECH USA System Extensions Connectors (2-Pack) are compatible with the Op/Tech Pro Loop strap. These extensions can be adjusted from 7 to 11 inches long while the Extra Long Extensions range from 10.5 to 16 inches and will also work with the Pro Loop Strap.
