Poorly implemented

This product is a good idea but poorly implemented. The channel underneath the plate is slighlty too narrow to completely clear the safety pin on my Vanguard 120k ball head. I had to file off the leading edges of the underside channel so the plate does not hang up on the pin when being removed from the ball head. Also, the retianing bolt is just a hex head bolt with no retaining washer so it falls out easily and a hex wrench is needed to put it on or take it off. I am looking around the house for an extra 1/4 threaded retaining bolt with a C clip to replace it. I will probably have to mill a rebate into the top of the plate to make it work, so now I have to find someone with a milling machine I can borrow! Mayby a rubber mat with a slot in it will work. Other than that it is great!

Overpriced for what it is

$ is too much for a piece of metal for a lightweight camera like Olympus Pen, but there aren't actually many options out there that are specifically designed for E-Px. Kirk makes one (universal for small cameras), as well as RRS, Markins, and maybe some others, but they all cost about the same. 4 stars because of the price, otherwise it fits well, looks and feels solid. Paying this price and more for a plate that goes onto a heavy expensive DSLR with big pricey glass is perfectly fine, but it's sort of overkill for E-Px.
