Better Stability with Long Lens and Arca-Swiss Mount

I saw this type of Arca-Swiss adapter on You tube and realized this was for me. On the foot of my long telephoto lens, I had a small, square Arca-Swiss adapter attached to the tripod foot of my lens to mount my lens on my tripod head. As soon as I saw this longer plate, I knew it was a better item for securing the lens to tripod. No chance of twisting. Inexpensive and does the job perfectly.

A quality two bolt plate.

This plate is now mounted on a Mercury 6 x 9 larger format camera. Both the main body and the 40mm front spacer (a set up for a 135mm lens) have 1/4 20 tpi bosses. This plate straddles them both, perfectly. Minimum overhangs. Job done. Plate: Tick. Added structural stability: Tick. Extra grab handle: Tick. M.D. Hayward.

Is it true that the bottom of the plate does not have safety stop screws or threaded holes for them?
Asked by: James M
Correct, we do not add the screws on the bottom of our plates. We have considered adding them but we do not like them because they do not allow the camera to sit flat when setting it down on a flat surface. It also seems like a potential problem with smaller plates.

Is this the best plate for a Fuji XF 50-140mm lens? The plate has 2 screws, but the len's collar's foot has only 1 screw hole. What is done with the "extra" screw?
Asked by: Reginald
The Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (3"), B&H # ACQRLP3, and the Kirk KLP-310 Quick Release Lens Plate for Select Lenses, B&H # KIKLP310V2, are both good lens plates for use with the FUJIFILM XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Lens. All Acratech quick release plates 3 inches (75mm) and longer include a second attachment screw that may be required for some lenses. If your lens only has one screw mount attachment thread, then you would simply remove the other screw, which you may choose to keep as a spare/backup screw.

The Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (3") will not properly fit the Canon 70-200mm Z lens. You can use the Kirk LP-73 Replacement Foot, B&H # KILP73, instead.
