Novoflex Adapter for Contax/Yashica Lens to Sony NEX Camera
Key Features
  • Adapts Contax/Yashica Lens to Sony NEX
One of the most appealing aspects of small mirrorless cameras like the Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 is the availability of a wide range of interchangeable lenses, including non-Sony lenses. This Novoflex Adapter for Contax/Yashica Lens to Sony NEX Camera makes it possible to mount a Contax or Yashica lens to your NEX-3 or NEX-5 camera with a precision mechanical adapter. Such an adapter does not transfer functions from the camera to the lens, such as auto focus, but automatic exposure metering (stop-down metering/aperture priority) is possible. The lens will focus to infinity using this adapter.

question

Can you use this adapter with Zeiss Contax N Lenses?
Asked by: Troy
No, not this one. But wait! We have these two: FotodioX Adapter for Contax N Lens to Sony NEX Mount Camera B&H # FOPNEXACN and Metabones Contax G Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera T Adapter (Gold) B&H # MEMBCGEGT2. Both should work well.

question

Hi!I have a pair of Contax (C/Y) lenses that I would like to use with the new Sony A7R. Will I be able to make use of the whole full-frame sensor or will this adapter crop the image to an APS-C format?Kind regards,Jesper
Asked by: Anonymous
The Contax/Yashica C/Y lenses are 35mm lenses and have a large enough imaging circle to cover the 35.9 x 24 mm full-frame sensor used in the Sony Alpha a7R Mirrorless Digital Camera. Novoflex does not list any crop factor when using the above adapter with C/Y lenses on the Sony full-frame sensor.

question

Does Contax/Yashica Lens to Sony NEX adaptor comes with caps on both ends? Mine only has one e-mount (with Novoflex name on) and the other end is left open. Is it what it supposed to be or mine is missing one cap?
Asked by: Harry
The NOVOFLEX NEX/CONT adapter comes with one camera side cap only.

question

I am planning to use this adapter on a Contax Zeiss 100mm f/3.5 with a MM mount, are there any problems with this adapter and the MM mount I should be aware of? Also, I'm assuming this adapter is not only limited to use on the NEX series of Sony cameras, but that it can be used on any E mount Sony camera (a6300, A7xx, etc).
Asked by: Jay
Yes, you absolutely can use this adapter on any e-mount camera.

question

will aperture settings transfer to the a7ii if I use my Zeiss 80-200 mm vario sonnaer lens ?
Asked by: Anonymous
This is a manual shooter's adapter. No EXIF data will be transferred from the lens. You will need to set the focal length manually. Manual aperture settings will not transfer into the EXIF either. However, you can use the camera's autoexposure meter to assist in setting the aperture, and you can allow the camera to set the ISO and/or shutter speed with AUTO.
