Has anyone used this adapter with the Sony A7R4? ...

Has anyone used this adapter with the Sony A7R4? Tell me about the results please. how will it work will an old nikkor 300 f2.8?
Asked by: alan
I own this adapter and have used it with my a7R IV. The fit between the adapter and the Sony body is perfect, as is the fit between Nikon lenses and the adapter. The blue ring on the adapter can be used to control the aperture of your lens, regardless of whether your lens has an aperture control ring. Or, you can set the adapter's aperture control ring to fully open or fully closed (I forget which), then you can control the aperture from the lens itself, unless it's a G lens with no aperture ring. However, one thing to watch out for with this is adapter is the metering. I was shooting my D800 and a7R IV on Sunday using the same 28mm AIS lens and using this adapter on my a7R IV. Both cameras were set to ISO 100. For one location, my D800 metered f/8 and 1/125, while the Sony metered f/8 and 1/800. For another location, my Nikon metered f/8 and 1/125, while the Sony metered f/8 and 1/500. Wondering if something might be wrong with my a7R IV, I went to the camera shop in town and tested this adapter with my 28mm AIS on my a7R IV vs. their a7R IV. Both Sony cameras metered the same. I then put my 28mm AIS back on my D800 and put a native Sony lens on my a7R IV and the store's a7R IV, and with native lenses, all cameras metered the same. So, sorry for the long winded response. In all instances, despite any differences in metering, all images were perfectly exposed and the histograms looked good. I'm not sure why this adapter meters differently, but if I was shooting with a film camera that didn't have a meter, I wouldn't measure light using a lens attached to this adapter.

Unfortunately, we're not aware of such tests with the Zeiss Milvus 21 f/2.8 lens and this adapter. Your results may vary.

Will this work with Tokina lens with F mount?
Asked by: Pitipong
Yes, the Novoflex Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera will work with a Tokina lens with F mount. There will be no electronic communication from the camera to the lens. The best Nikon lenses to use with this adapter would be manual F mount lenses,or newer Nikon "D" lenses with manual F stops.
