Sony DFS-900M Multi-format Switcher

The Sony DFS-900M Multi-format Switcher is a 3 RU size switcher that supports SD, HD, or mixed SD/HD formats, and accepts asynchronous input signals due to a built-in frame synchronizer. It features 8 inputs for HD-SDI or SD-SDI formats extendable up to 24 using 4 optional BKDF-910 input boards, and has 4 output ports which can be increased to 12 with the help of 2 optional BKDF-960 output boards. Both the boards come with a 2-channel format converter.

Including 4 keyers and 2 DSKs, the switcher offers a 6-channel 3D digital effects including DME wipe, nonlinear effects, and warp with over 100 wipe patterns and a wide range of adjustable parameters for these effects. It has a 4-channel frame memory which allows capturing inputs as still images that can be handled as primary input. Using an optional BKDF-950 Multi-viewer board, the display can be split into 4, 10, or 16 windows to display multiple images on a single monitor or up to 32 windows on 2 screens. It uses the BKDF-901 1 M/E and BKDF-902 1.5 M/E control panel.
