Cartoni F126 reviews

Focus HD Fluid Head & One-Stage 3-Tube Aluminum-Alloy Tripod is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for the money This is probably the best tripod I have purchased. Smooth pans and tilts, the tripod is light weight and it looks like it was made from quality materials. Able to handle up to 26 pounds is also a great feature. The camera head is perfect for my eng camera.i would recommend this product as a great tripod and priced reasonably.,plus it comes with a nice carrying case.tThe only con is too many plastic parts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working Pretty Well Been a great system for the price so far, haven't put it under any extreme circumstances yet though. There is a decent amount of grease that will come off with time, but so far that's the biggest downside. The case included was a nice surprise, though not the most ergonomic while carrying other equipment on a one man shoot. Overall, the tripod is solid, and the fluid head is very smooth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cartoni F126 Focus HD is a good product Good fluid head tripod for the price. Excellent balance, and drag controls. My only gripe is that the tripod did not come with instructions on how to set up the balance. I was able to find the instructions on-line fairly quickly, but wished the instructions were included.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all around Tripod The head is wonderful and the system is very easy and quick to use. The only downfall to a single stage sticks is that they don't go very low. But easy enough to deal with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Professional Value Well made very smooth fluid head. Lightweight system won't break your back lugging it around. Very sturdy tripod.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as one might expect. After having shots ruined by consumer-grade tripod heads, I invested in this Cartoni. It's better, but not as superior as one might expect for the price difference. The price has fallen over the last couple of years, however. The smoothness of panning and tilting is decent, but still doesn't get you the liquid smoothness that you might expect. I don't know if the problem is the damping or something else about the internal design. I've tried various braking levels and the results are usable but not impressive. The ergonomics suffer from some bad UI. The pan and tilt brake levers are plastic, which many complain about; mine haven't broken yet. My complaint is about their inconsistent orientation: They're curved, and their orientation is opposite to each other. To lock the panning, you pull against the curve; to lock tilting, you push against it. When you're looking through the camera, you need to be able to rely on tactile clues to operate the tripod. This inconsistency is annoying and interrupts your work. Also, the panning damper is controlled by a ring around the tripod head, but it's not clear which way you turn it to tighten or loosen it. The only markings are faint, spindly rectangles embossed on the rubber between the grip nubs. These are essentially invisible in anything other than bright light, and their meaning isn't clear. You wind up furiously turning this thing and then trying to judge whether panning is getting easier or harder; and there's no indication of where you are in the total range of adjustment. The tilt drag adjustment is a knob, at least. There's an illuminated level on the tripod head, which is nice... Or it would be, if it were accurate. My Cartoni level is significantly wrong. I noticed things weren't lining up properly and then checked it with another level. It turns out that it's inaccurate and thus useless. The ball head is nice and secure. I bought a hi-hat for the same ball size, and being able to move the head back and forth quickly makes it more likely that you're going to get better shots instead of half-assing it. The bag is nice and the tripod fits easily. I can even get my mic boom and hi-hat in there.
