Hi - What's the difference between this item drum unit and the TN450, High Yield Cartridge??Thanks for your reply. I really enjoy shopping @ B&H!
A high yield cartridge contains the toner (an ink like powder) that is applied to the drum. A drum does not contain any toner. It is the part of the printer that the toner sticks to before it is heated, and pressed onto your media.

Is there something that has to be done to the new drum to active it to run?
if its a model thats only a printer without a scanner: do this to reset the counter.1 ) Put the New drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the machine. Do not close the front cover yet.2) Press and hold down the Go button for about 4 seconds until all the LEDs light up. Once all four LEDs are lit, release the Go button. Close the Machine coverif its a Model that has a scanner too. Do this to reset the drum counter:1) Open the front cover.2) Press Clear or Clear/Back on the control panel.3) If your Brother machine has a numeric keypad: Press 1 to reset the drum counter. If your Brother machine doesn't have a numeric keypad: Press the Up Arrow Key to reset the drum counter4) When the LCD shows Accepted, close the front cover.
