The Mercury 2-Port FireWire 800 / 1-Port FireWire 400 PCI Adapter Card from Other World Computing lets you add 2 FireWire 800 ports to your older Power Macintosh system, bringing it up to speed with the fastest FireWire interface available.* As a bonus, this card includes a single FireWire 400 port for the utmost in compatibility with older peripherals.

The Mercury 2-Port FireWire 800 / 1-Port FireWire 400 PCI Adapter Card has been tested at exceeding 63MB/s when using Mercury Elite Pro FireWire 800 hard drives. That's incredible speed!

Backwards Compatibility

Cable Length

FireWire 800: Macintosh with 33MHz / 64-bit PCI slot. Power Macintosh Blue & White G3 or later, all AGP Power Macintosh G4 systems fully supported. Compatible with the Power Macintosh G5. FireWire 800 requires Mac OS X 10.2.3 or later, Mac OS X 10.2.5 or higher recommended. FireWire 800 is NOT supported under Mac OS 9.
FireWire 400: Macintosh with 33MHz / 32-bit PCI slot. FireWire 400 requires Mac OS 8.6 or later. If used in a 33MHz / 32-bit PCI slot, FireWire 400 speed will be maximum attainable.

Windows -
FireWire 800: Windows PC with 33MHz / 64-bit PCI slot. FireWire 800 requires Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP.
FireWire 400: PC with 33MHz / 32-bit PCI slot. FireWire 400 requires Windows ME, 2000 or XP. If used in a 33MHz / 32-bit PCI slot, FireWire 400 speed will be maximum attainable.
