    Interfit STR140 reviews

Metal Umbrella Bracket with Adjustable Flash Shoe is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light duty with limitations. For use only with smaller light modifiers. The flash attachment is fixed to the adapter with screws so it can't be rotated in order to position the flash's infrared eye toward the camera. Also, it's hard to put enough torque on the screw that holds the umbrella shaft in place due to the small size of the screw head. A thumb screw should have been used here like everywhere else. This was a big disappointment and is definitely for low-budget studios.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Off-Camera Flash Photography A friend recommended I try doing Off-Camera Flash (OCF) shooting. I purchased this bracket for an outdoor photo shoot this past weekend. I mounted the bracket to my light pole and secured my Canon Speedlight 580ex and Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce OM-EY (also purchased from B&H), prior to the shoot. Arriving On-Location, I just had to setup the light pole and power on the flash ready to go. The bracket allowed me to quickly adjust the flash in any direction needed. I haven't used the Umbrella slot yet, but it looks as if would hold just fine. I recommend it for anyone wanting to use speedlites as an OCF. My only recommendation would be to have a larger knob to tighten it down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have 6 of these I have 6 of these that I use for weddings with OCF. I sometimes use them for portraits with small umbrellas. When you turn the top half of the bracket and lock it in, the teeth hold it in place. Very important that these have teeth for locking. some others do not. Seems mostly well made and the secondary lock for the flash hot shoe is very necessary and appreciated. The bottom knob which locks the bracket to the stand seems to come a little loose from time to time, but it's acceptable. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective and sturdy I purchased a couple of these to use for my Nikon SB910 Speedlights. My first impression was the great feel of metal. It has a nice weight and solid feel to it. I really like the screw on it that secures my flash in place. It's snug, easy to screw/unscrew unlike other similar products I have that can be a pain in the butt to unscrew. I trust my SB910 on it. No complaints so far. I've had mine for a couple months now and have used it mainly for outdoor/indoor portraits using a 32 shoot through umbrella. It's a simple yet effective setup and this bracket does it's job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but a bit different from picture Good but a bit different from picture I bought that one because I wanted a short shaft between the tilt join and the cold shoe, so the flash is not too high from the middle of the umbrella hole The product design have been change a bit and the shaft is now much longer so it doesN,t do what I wanted from it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality This bracket secures well to standard sized light stands. I have had it for a weekend and used it a few times already. The strong solid metal suprised me. If you want REALLY light materials, go for plastic instead. But this piece will stand up to much abuse. It's thick walled socket seats nicely on the light stand once the knob is fully unscrewed to allow clearance. And once snugged onto the light stand, I just leave it there. The black knobs are plenty large enough. I am using a Raven 8' black general use light stand w/ 33 umbrella's / Olympus Fl-36R flash. One important thing I noticed that I was researching and worried about is: when using cold shoe flashes, one reviewer stated that if the metal contacts of the flash shoe continually make contact with a metal surface, it could short out the flash and damage it. This bracket has a recession in the center under the area the flash foot sits, allowing enough space that the metal does not come into contact with the contacts on my flash. That was as important to me as the sturdiness of the knobs and solidarity of the bracket itself. The knurled umbrella knob could be slightly larger, allowing more torque to be applied when tightening/ loosening the umbrella shaft. That is my only gripe, although a small one. This is a good unit to purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stronger than many similar brackets. This isn't the strongest bracket available, but it's better than many of the common plastic brackets that are being sold today. It will work with most studio flat units and probably with lighter hot lights, especially those without fresnel lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interfit Umbrella Bracket I am professional photographer and have begun using off camera flash. The bracket works like a charm. It is sturdy & each component moves with ease. I have no problem tightening or loosening the clamps. It fits well on my light stand.
