Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb quality Manfrotto has always made great products and this one lives up to its' Heavy Duty name. I did have to buy a 3/8 to 5/8 adapter to use it with my Alien Bees studio strobes. I wanted something that would allow tilting of their Beauty Dish and this has done the trick at a lot cheaper price than buying a seperate boom arm stand. I use it with my 13' light stand and it gives me a little more height in case I need it, but it's mostly used exclusively with the beauty dish. Beauty dishes won't adjust downward very far (almost nothing at all) and this has solved this problem for me perfectly. Thank you B&H and Manfrotto for selling and making such great products! ...Chris

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 237HD Heavy-Duty Flex Arm As other reviewers have stated it is heavy for its size. It is stiff but flexible. It will hold a flash and umbrella and clamp but I wouldn't load it up with anything else. It works well for holding things that weigh less than a pound or two but nothing heavy. It works ok for what I need but it would never hold a camera and because it wasn't designed to hold something heavy. P.S. Also not mentioned, you do need a male to male stud to attach it to a tripod. I had to have a salesman find that info as it was not listed anywhere that I could find on bhphoto or on Manfrotto's site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely Heavy duty I was definitely not expecting this to be what it was. It is definitely heavy duty - it resembles a baton in all honestly. It works very well - I originally intended to use it with the Justin Clamp to move a future Pocketwizard Flextt5 unit away from my 580EX II, but after a bit of playing around, this thing is currently in use to keep my 580EX II closer to the umbrella shaft to more accurately hit the center of the umbrella. I've tested around with it and I can stand the weight of an umbrella adapter + 60 eclipse + a 580EX II on a Justin Clamp. Suffice to say, I was very impressed. Will be ordering more in the future

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Manfrotto 237HD Heavy Duty Flex Arm The Manfrotto 237HD Heavy Duty Flex Arm holds items in place well, as long as they are not too heavy. My Sunpak 622 is 936g and it was too much for this arm to hold in place. At 680g of its own weight plus the superclamp at 453g I find the combination to be a bit heavy to carry around to locations, but I will pack them anyway if I anticipate their use. For holding heavier loads the magic arm may have a better weight to load capacity ratio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I want two! This is a heavy but sturdy piece of gear. I've used mine with a super clamp. Often use it as an extension for a hair light when shooting multiple speedlights. I have also used this to hold a D700 + 70-200 lens + a speedlight mounted on a ledge where a tripod couldn't be used. It bends but will hold firmly and is well worth having in your kit. It appears to look like rubber, but is actually metal that can bend. Versatile piece of gear to have on hand. This is not something that will break.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wheelchair photographer I have the heavy duty flex arm and super clamp mounted on a power wheelchair. I no longer have the upper body strength to support a camera and rely on a remote shutter for my point and shoot camera. Reasonably priced and great for adaptive photography purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid gear This is a very strong and sturdy piece of equipment that can be used for a variety of attachments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and beefy. With a clamp attached, strong enough to hold a reflector. Good length. Nice touch that they added threads to the ends of the arm, 1/4 male on one end and 3/8 female on the other end. This heavy duty version is better and more stable than the lighter weight-standard model.
