Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice kit I bought this to improve family portraits. The quality of this kit is superb. I was going for the Westcott, but eventually opted for this one because: 1) I wanted a kit ready to operate; 2) I did not like the idea of removing the front face every time I need to change settings to the flash unit; 3) Dome components are avilable as inexpensive spares (front face, internal buffle, rods, speed ring, etc) 4) The kit is proved to be very durable; Maybe the Westcott is more portable and easy to set up, but I think the light this dome provides its way better. I have used it only once, but I'll will be using it more and more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Medium LiteDome Deluxe As the kit contains quite a few products by Photoflex, it is only fair to review them sepparately. 1) Light stand: it's OK. I'd give it 3 stars if I could. It is a little heavier than the ones from Manfrotto and doesn't feature air or spring cushion. 2) The speedring: fair enough, it is light and sturdy so I see no need to ever replace one of these. It works better with monolights, since for speedlights the shoe mount and the brass spigot render it bulky for transport. 3) The shoe mount: well, it is sturdy, but cumbersome to assemble and set up properly. The worst part is that there is no way to prevent the cold shoe from unscrewing from the spigot if you mount a large strip box at an angle (it loosens and make your softbox point downwards). 4) The softbox is awesome. I've got three Profoto RFI Stripboxes in different sizes and the 3' Octabox and compared side by side, the Photoflex version doesn't lack any major feature or fall behind in build quality; moreover, it has some advantages over the Profoto ones. This softbox in particular features a white interior, so the output is generally very soft even without the inner diffuser. The build quality is very good, the materials seem remarkably durable and are very very light. The one thing that stands out over the Profoto ones is the quick release corners; these things make assembly and disassembly quite easy (less than a minute to attach it to the speedring, if you leave the inner and outer diffusers in place; the same goes for tear down). The Profoto's obviousl had a better presentation, an awesome soft case and velcro everywhere in the back flaps to prevent any kind of light spill (the LiteDome only has small velcro squares)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great starter First time buying a softbox and I am pleased I went with this kit! I use it for my 580ex II. I've used it with a band shoot and they came out great. The size is pefect too. Would recommend to anyone getting into softbox shooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strobist necessity I only was able to use this product once since I received it, but love it so far! The light is soft and bright. The assembly will take some getting use to, but the portability is worth it. It is so nice to have a powerful light with no cords, and very easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good match for the speed lights. Needed a lite and portable in the field soft-box to use with some speed lights for a commercial job, where big lights were not an option. It worked really well. Definitely worth buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made and easy to use. Great light diffusion. Medium size is great for headshots and full portraits. Looking forward to trying it out in more situations. Takes a little time to set up, but it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kit for the $ Easy setup, and works well with my 580ex2. So far I like it for single portraits, haven't tried product or small item shots. Probably need sandbags if used outside
