PNY 8400 G5 Overview

The nVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DMS R3 PCIe Display Card from PNY is a 3D display card for use with Windows computer systems. The card installs in an available PCI Express 2.0 x16 or PCI Express x16 slot. It can be mounted in a standard chassis or in a low-profile chassis using the included mounting hardware.

It features a single DMS 59 port, which is a digital output that can drive two displays. A breakout cable is included, allowing you to drive two DVI displays using the card. Two DVI to VGA adapters are also included, giving you the option of using the card to drive legacy analog VGA displays as well.

The card features many exclusive nVIDIA technologies. It is designed with a unified architecture, which dynamically allocates processing power -- allowing the card to leverage one GPU for geometry, vertex, physics, and pixel shading operations alike. It also supports GigaThread processing, TurboCache memory allocation, and Lumenex floating point calculations.

The card also supports nVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology, which improves the picture and playback quality of high-definition video. Of course, it is fully compliant with games and applications written using the popular Microsoft DirectX 10.0 Shader Model 4.0 and OpenGL 3.1 software development kits.
