The enTourage eDGe Dualbook is a cross between an eReader and an Android tablet. Yes Virginia, it's true. As its name suggests, the eDGe has 2 screens: one is a 9.7" reader for eBooks and taking notes, while the other is a 10.1" color touch screen tablet for browsing the 'net, powered by the Google Android operating system. The eDGe enables connectivity via WiFi or Bluetooth. In addition to web access, the tablet also plays movies and music, displays and organizes photos, provides a virtual keyboard, and even has a web cam, among other features usually found on a tablet such as a headphone output.
The 2 displays are integrated, meaning you can move between them for tasks like attaching links to e-books, or for searching Wikipedia and Google from the text in the e-book you're reading. Thanks to the Google Android OS you can also add apps to the eDGe for increased functionality and productivity. Other features of the tablet include an email function, contact list, a calculator, alarm clock, library function, and much more.
The eDGe has both microphone and headphone connections, 2 USB ports and a mini USB port, and an SD card slot - all allow for numerous uses and functionality. The Dualbook's 4GB internal memory enables for storage of your favorite files as well - whether that be books, movies, music, or documents. Books can be purchased from the enTourage book store and free public domain titles can be obtained from sites like Google Books.
When it comes to battery life the eDGe reader provides over 11 hours of reading, while the tablet can run for up to 6 hours before needing to be charged. Among the other highlights is the ability to configure the device in the way that works best for you. Use the tablet in portrait or landscape mode or flip it 180° for a totally different setup.
