Does its job but is the weak link in the Gigapan chain

It does the job of a battery holder but in my opinion, it has been the weak link in the Gigapan Epic 100 system as the locking tabs are very fragile and break easily. The price is fair as similar items from other companies often gouge the buyer with high replacement costs. Still, it would be so much better to not have to replace it at all!!!

Must have backup

This is a particularly flimsy part of the Epic 100, and every Gigapan owner should have a backup in his/her kit. The little plastic tabs that secure the unit into the base are prone to snapping off. If that happens when you're out in the field, you're done for the day. Think of it as a $$ peace of mind insurance policy!
