The built-in AM/FM tuner allows for 40 presets, and the disc player accommodates CD, CD-R and CD-RW with playback capability for MP3 and WMA files.
The USB port allows for a direct connection of your iPod, so you can bypass the iPod's internal D/A converter and send signals straight to the audiophile-grade D/A converters of the D-M38 for richer, more detailed sound. The unit offers dual power transformers for a solid power supply and features a power output of 30 watts per channel, as well as two auxiliary inputs that let you connect additional components like a DVD player or gaming system.
The D-M38 also offers two 2-way speakers, each with a dual-layer woofer that resists flexing to provide you with deep, accurate bass and a clean midrange without coloration.
