With this "locking" version of the 7D, reliability and repeatability are within reach for large photographic operations, even when using many different photographers with many different skill levels. The EOS 7D Studio Version (SV) has four different levels available for flexibility in deciding which camera features and settings to "lock" or "unlock" for which photographers, based on your own specific workflow requirements. Each photographer can have as much or as little control as you choose--from total freedom to use all features, to having only the shutter release and playback screen operational. This unprecedented level of control is guarded by a password that changes daily to prevent anyone else from changing the camera settings and disrupting the overall project workflow.
With the included Canon WFT-E5A grip and a select Honeywell or Bluetooth barcode reader (available separately), you can collect and store customer data that remains linked to the image and is readable throughout the entire workflow process. Up to 255 characters can be stored in the image file's Public Comments EXIF field, plus single or multiple barcodes per image can be stored, with either 1D or 2D barcodes.
