The Steadicam iPhone 4 Smoothee Mount is an additional or replacement mount for using your iPhone 4 on the Steadicam Smoothee. It allows handheld tracking shots to achieve a professional level of stability. This quick-release mount is easily removed for use as a table stand or attachment to a tripod, using a standard 1/4"-20 screw thread.
This does what it's supposed to but in the world of smartphone adapters/tripod mounts I find it highly limiting to have something so precisely form fitting that doesn't allow for the use of a case (or the upgrade to a new model that is usually just around the corner). For example, the mophie juice (extended battery) case is a great item for extending the battery life. It would be good if this had a similar design to the iStabilizer mount that can be used for ANY smartphone within certain parameters. Certainly allows for the use of a case. Otherwise this is a very sturdy, well made mount.
With a little extra light and this tripod mount the iPhone can become a nice HD movie camera.
