Boris FX Continuum Complete 7 AVX for Windows (Upgrade)
Key Features
  • Works w/ Avid Media Composer & Symphony
  • Also works w/ NewsCutter
  • Over 200 Filter Effects & Transitions
  • OpenGL Hardware Acceleration
Boris FX Continuum Complete 7 AVX adds over 200 filters to Avid Media Composer, NewsCutter, and Symphony editing software for Windows.

Owners of previous versions of Continuum Complete AVX are eligible for this upgrade.

Continuum Complete 7 AVX makes use of OpenGL acceleration more than ever before. An OpenGL particle engine is new for BCC 7, which manifests itself in new tools such as BCC Particle Array 3D and Pin Art 3D, two particle-based 3D generators. All BCC 7 AVX filters take advantage of either OpenGL hardware acceleration or multi-processing to speed things up, clearing the way for interactivity to thrive.

Furthering that interactivity and fostering easeful creativity is the software's adoption of Avid's native overlay widgets, which put parameter values directly on the program window. These color-coded interface devices allow you to adjust BCC filter parameters without taking your eye off the video image. A Compare Mode has been added to over a third of the filters that ship with BCC 7 AVX. This lets you compare filtered video with the original in either split-screen or side-by-side views. In split-screen view, drag the wipe bar across the full image to compare the filtered result with the unfiltered source at any zoom level.

New for BCC 7 AVX are Lens Blur, Lens Shape, and Lens Transition, three filters that imitate rack defocusing of a camera lens
3D Objects category employs OpenGL acceleration for tasks such as deforming layers and generating 3D extruded text
Vertex and pixel shaders rely on OpenGL hardware acceleration, as do Glint, Lens Flare, LED, Prism, and Damaged TV filters
Features both primary and, for finer control, secondary color correction filters
Powerful keying using Chroma, Luma, Two Way Key, Matte Choker, Light Wrap, Wire Remover, and spill suppression
Motion Key makes possible the removal of foreground objects
Smooth Tone, DV Fixer, and Pixel Fixer filters digitally "repair" video clips
Includes over 1500 factory-installed presets, hundreds of them animated
Noise-reduction tool uses spatial and temporal information from video clips
Imports and exports motion-tracking data
Navigation tool allows the creation of custom presets so you can select effects with a single click
Image-processing algorithms enhance a clip's image quality during transform-scaling
Pan and Zoom filter offers extensive rotation control and puts parameters on-screen
Support for Avid AVX 2 architecture means extensive use of Avid's advanced keyframing mode and of HUD (heads-up display) interface controls
Parameter display options include EZ parameter mode and the ability to display only modified or animated filter parameters
PixelChooser technology allows the creation of channel-based or region-based masks, and a custom option lets you draw animatable vector-based bezier spline masks using on-screen controls
Apply modes can be combined and animated in a single layer
Rays Cartooner, Rays Texture, Rays Streaky, and Light Zoom filters employ volumetric lighting
Auto-animating wipes use an "influence" parameter to create custom shapes based on channel information
Time-manipulation filters include Temporal Blur, Velocity Remap, Jitter, Looper, and Optical Flow
Create 3D geometric shapes such as spheres and cylinders, which can intersect in Z-space with soft cast shadows and 3D spotlights
Image processing employs 16-bit color precision
