The Sescom LN2MIC-ZMH4 Line Out to Camera Mic Level In Cable is designed to connect the line output of the Zoom H4N and Sony PCMD50 recorders, to the microphone inputs of compatible cameras (see compatibility chart below). The cable measures 9" in length, features a 2.5mm sub-mini TRS connection, 1/8" (3.5mm) mini TRS connection and a -25dB level attenuation pad for "stepping down" line level audio, to microphone level. Sescom LN2MIC-ZMH4-GH1 Reviews
Way worse than I expected
I orderd this to run my zoom H1 directly into my Panasonic GH1 in an attempt to improve audio quality without having to sync. It didn't work. The GH1's built in mic sounds better than this. I guess I'll have to stick to syncing my audio in post.
Faulty unit
Doesn't apply any attenuation. Probably it is because I received a faulty unit and I hope I'll be able to get a replacement from B&H or Sescom. To make sure I'm not mistaken I compared it to my older Sescom cable which has the same -25db pad , except it is 3.5mm to 3.5mm. I had to add an extra 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to connect my Zoom H4n to a Panasonic GH2. This older cable with an adapter worked fine, which proves that this new LN2MIC-ZMH4 2.5mm Sub-mini to 3.5mm Mini cable has a problem.
