You do not need this cable for Canon 6d there have build in attenuator in mic setting just turn it on in camerait can handle up to -20db if you want the best result then this cable is good to -25db. Hope this help.

Thoughts on using this cable to connect a GH4 and Zoom H1n?
While this would work for connecting the headphone out of the H1n to a mic input on the GH4, you would lose the ability to monitor from the recorder. Here's another attenuator cable that gives you a separate headphone output B&H # KOACH425MON.

I'm recording church services. I'd like to put the camera in the back of the sanctuary and put my zoom h4n recorder in front of the pulpit. Is there a long extension cord to run from the front of the sanctuary to the back (about 75 ft.) and connect the H4n recorder to my video camera?
Or the other option is to have a radio link as in a radio mic. Simple and generally available.

It's hard to be certain as these cables usually are made for specific recorders. But out of all their cables this seems like the most generic one.

Hi Stephen. This cable will work properly for the H4N Pro as well as H4N, and has built-in circuitry that will attenuate signal to the proper level to match the H4N Pro's "sweet spot" on the mic input.

My setup would be to use the 90 degree end into the camera which appears to be the reverse of the labels. Would that work? What impact would this have?
This attenuating cable will only work if connected into the right side as the label indicates, it will does not work the reverse way.
