Vello VB-1000 Overview

The black Vello ActionPan Professional Grade Stabilizing Action Grip allows you to hold your camera down low when filming skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, auto racing, motocross, BMX/FMX, and even when boating. Besides just facilitating a novel filming perspective, the ActionPan will steady your shot as well. It can be used with most SLR cameras or camcorders (with max height of 4.5") that feature a 1/4"-20 tripod mount. The 1/4"-20 screw on the bracket is adjustable, to better accommodate cameras of different configurations.

The ActionPan features a shockproof rubber handle that alleviates stress by offering a comfortable, secure grip. There's also a finger groove for securing grip, as well as nonslip rubber rails for further securing your camera to the mount. As an added bonus, the ActionPan is equipped with a removable accessory shoe mount on the top, which can hold your video light, camera flash, or external microphone. If you plan to capture action sports from any angle, especially low angles, the ActionPan is a must have.

Accommodates Canon Vixia cam plus on-camera light and then, if not shooting hand-held, the whole thing may be attached to a tripod.

I tried it and it helps but I think it is not the best option if you believe you are going to get pretty good stabilized images. It can do the job but not as a stabilizer. For the price it is fine.

This Stabilizer requires a monitor attached to the top mount in order for the most optimal use. Otherwise, you'll be struggling to see while holding it. It didn't help a whole lot with shakiness but for this price, it gets the job done. We have used the Stabilizer for filming scenes, athletic events and other things. It is best used when standing still and capturing moving subjects. One of the perks of this stabilizer is the ability to add attachments to the top mount, allowing flexibility in what kind of rig you want to have - whether it be a microphone, light or monitor attached.

When used with a Canon HF G60 it seems to be a perfect fit. Nice solid base, good handle with no flex, and a convenient shoe mount. Very pleased.

Perfect for using in a fishing boat

I bought this handle ahead of a weeklong fishing trip and it enhanced my video recording experience tremendously! When I mounted it with the handle on the side of the camera instead of behind it, I was able to hold the camera over the water/outside of the boat to get a better angle of the person catching the fish. I mounted a monitor with battery pack to the cold shoe on top of the Vello ActionPan to make shooting video from odd angles even easier. Such a fantastic product at a great price; I highly recommend!

Probably not a good idea. Use the LCD viewfinder screen. it would a much more practical solution when shooting with his type of rig.

Yes you can do that. However, the ability to mount the bracket on a tripod will depend on the head or whatever quick release mounting plate you need.
