Key Features
- For Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM (Original), 17-40mm f/4L & EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 Lenses
The dedicated Vello EW-83E Lens Hood is specifically designed for use with Canon's EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM (original version), 17-40mm f/4L & EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 lenses. It is primarily used to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of it. A dedicated hood is crafted to perfectly suit the specific focal length of the lens it is designed for. Additionally, this hood features a non-glare matte finish on the interior surface to further prevent or limit lens flare. Also, since the end of the lens is extended, you get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Will this fit the 16-25mm f4 version?
Not that we are aware of. For the 16-35mm F/4 from Canon you need the Canon EW-82 Lens Hood, B&H # CAEW82.

question
so I bought this hood (for canon 10-22) and it snapped on quite nicely, BUT I can't seem to get it off?? I contacted support and they sent me instruction for a hood with tabs on the sides (obviously not helpful as this model doesn't have tabs - wish it did). Any help is appreciated as I don't want to break the lens (ugh!) - thanks!- Chris
Please do this at your own risk. I did not notice that it was very hard to get it off my lens. You feel as if you're going to break the lens. I would strongly suggest that you spend the money to get the Canon brand one. It was worth the investment. I used to buy Vello brand lens hoods before, but I have since stopped.
