Vello HN-1 Dedicated Lens Hood (52mm Screw-On)
Key Features
  • For Nikon 20-60mm f/3.5-5.5 IX, 24mm f/2.8 Ai, 24mm f/2.8 Ai-S, 24mm f/2.8 D AF, 28mm f/2 Ai, 28mm f/2 Ai-S, 35mm f/2.8 PC & 35mm f/3.5 PC Lenses
The dedicated Vello HN-1 Lens Hood (52mm Screw-On) is specifically designed for use with Nikon's 20-60mm f/3.5-5.5 IX, 24mm f/2.8 Ai, 24mm f/2.8 Ai-S, 24mm f/2.8 D AF, 28mm f/2 Ai, 28mm f/2 Ai-S, 35mm f/2.8 PC & 35mm f/3.5 PC lenses. It is primarily used to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of it. A dedicated hood is crafted to perfectly suit the specific focal length of the lens it is designed for. Additionally, this hood features a non-glare matte finish on the interior surface to further prevent or limit lens flare. Also, since the end of the lens is extended, you get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Can screw this 52mm lens hood on the Nikon BR-3 Mount Adapter Ring that also has a 52mm threading?
Asked by: Philippe
Yes, you are able to mount the Vello HN-1 to the end of the BR-3 (or any other 52mm thread for that matter). In order to best protect the exposed end/element of your reversed lens, we also recommend a UV/Protector filter on the BR-3 first before then attaching the HN-1 onto that filter.

Can a lens cap be fitted to this hood and if so what size?
Asked by: Peter
I do not think a clip on cap will fit on this hood, it is probably an odd size anyway. You best bet is to use a push on cap that is 70mm. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/3gz6qBo
