ikan Elements Shoulder Mount Basic Kit

The ikan Elements Shoulder Mount Basic rig is a lightweight, modular support system for a DSLR camera. It puts two handgrips in front of you and a dual-element flat shoulder pad on your shoulder, with the camera at a comfortable distance from your face.

The camera attaches to a cheese plate, which sits on two adapters for the 18" standard 15mm rods. Those rods attach in the front (via right-angle adapters and a third, 12" rod) to dual rod adapters that each host dense foam handgrips. These enable precise control over the rig. At the rear of the Shoulder Mount Basic is where the rig meets your shoulder, via flat fabric-covered foam pads that balance maneuverability and comfort with weight support and stability.

Like all ikan Elements rigs, the Shoulder Mount Basic is eminently configurable. All major parts are aluminum with a powder-coated black finish. Most elements tighten, adjust, and remove easily through the use of thumbscrews. All ikan Elements hardware is based on industry-standard connections (15mm rods and 1/4"-20 and 3/8" screws, primarily), so it's a simple matter of adding a part or three if you want to expand your rig. The Shoulder Mount Basic already has your DSLR camera riding rails, so without too much extra investment you could add elements such as a follow focus or a matte box for your lens.
