Optical Performance
  • Broad-band multicoated lenses enhance clarity and increase light transmission by minimizing flare, glare, reflections
Construction Details
  • Housing: forged 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum alloy
  • Waterproof to 50 ft / 15m: nitrogen purged and fully sealed for all-weather reliability
Use and Handling
  • Picatinny flat-top mount: compatible with Mil-Std 1913 Picatinny rails, features two Colt-style thumbscrews
  • BAC: The Bindon Aiming Concept was devised by Trijicon's founder, Glyn Bindon. The BAC method of aiming with both eyes open ensures a far superior sense of balance, and a wider field-of-view. Combining these benefits with a magnified Trijicon sight gives you a considerable advantage over your target
  • Green horseshoe reticle: calibrated for 6.8 SPC - an illuminated horseshoe inside a target reference floats above a 6 o'clock stadia with bullet drop compensating hash-marks for distances up to 800 ma. There are horizontal 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock posts with hashmarks on either side
  • Dual illumination: 24/7/365 - battery-free tritium/fiber-optic technology provides the horseshoe with a highly-visible green glow

I've purchased products from B&H in the past, always great service, fast delivery and great price. The ACOG speaks for itself

Buit to military standards, tough as nails. This optic has been tried and true for 20 years. Add a modern RMR ontop, pretty sweet. I like the LED version as I can control or turn off when I choose. Sure you are a slave to a battery, but having that ability as opposed to a blaming over-bright Tridium light source is the pay payoff. Great eye relief, super quick acquisition both acog/rmr. It's fantastic for my competitions and everyday life.

question

Specs say this RCO is designed for 14.5 inch barrel. Will it be ok on a 16 inch barrel? Trajectory of a 5.56 is pretty comparable regardless of barrel length I thought.
Asked by: H G.
The problem is one of velocity, not so much barrel length. Generally speaking the longer the barrel the higher the velocity. The difference in barrel length is 1 1/2 inch but remember that rarely does manufacturer specs match up with the actual velocity, too the outside temperature will affect the actual velocity. Unless you are a purist the difference is not worth worrying about. Also, the 223/5.56 is a very flat shooting cartridge, depending on the load and I am assuming a standard 55 grain load. With the right zero the bullet will never be more than 3 high or 3 low out to over 300 yards. If you hand load it would be a very easy matter to adjust the velocity if you felt the need to do so. Regardless of what ammo you shoot there will be variances in velocity unless you have match grade ammo. You can zero this scope wherever you want with the added benefit that it has range finding ability. By the way, the horizontal line is NOT for windage . . . . . the Chevron is used for that. The horizontal line is in Mil's . . . . . read the manual.
