Following in the footsteps of VariZoom's FlowPod, the CrossFire Pro HD DSLR Support System was designed specifically for shooting smooth, handheld video with a DSLR or similarly sized HD camera. This affordable, ultra-lightweight device uses a proprietary handle and gimbal design that lets you achieve fluid, floating camera movements with new levels of ease. An integrated 2-stage tripod allows the unit to be docked or locked down while providing up to 4 different shooting modes: tripod, monopod, belt-support, and full stabilizer modes. The CrossFire's slim design and narrow base make it a uniquely flexible tool that will excel in a variety of shooting environments, bringing new levels of comfort to your DSLR productions.
Stabilizer Mode
The CrossFire stabilizer crushes the competition in quality, performance, and price. Capable of handling cameras up to 4 lbs (1.8kg), this versatile unit was specifically created to meet the needs of DSLR video and compact HD shooting. Incorporating our interchangeable quick-release, new ultra-fluid gimbal design, extremely lightweight (under 2l lbs) and compact form (15" long), the CrossFire does it better, does more, and costs less. A completely new gimbal design utilizes 6 precision bearings and aluminum/stainless construction machined to tolerances of 0.001". Ideal for DSLRs like the Canon 5D Mark II, Panasonic GH1/GH2, Canon 7D, Canon Rebel T2i, Nikon D7000, or any other compact HD video camera.
Tripod Mode
The CrossFire is the ideal acquisition tool, capable of fluid stabilizer shots and then instantly switching to tripod shooting mode--or simply use the tripod mode as a secure way to set the unit down without having to lay it on its side like many other stabilizer systems. Other handheld stabilizers are not so convenient, as they offer only one shooting mode and require disassembly to switch shots. The CrossFire can go from tripod to stabilizer and back again in seconds.
Monopod Mode
Lightweight and compact, the CrossFire can also be used in monopod mode. Fold the legs and extend to prop the unit on your leg, or support it with the included belt for mobile, body-braced shooting. This is a great way to capture sports and school events from the bleachers. The CrossFire is so slim, compact, and versatile; you may just keep your camera attached to it permanently!
Belt-Supported Mode
Adding to the versatility of the CrossFire is the inclusion of our custom belt/holster system that allows you to extend one of the legs into the holster for a mobile, body-braced shooting mode. This strain-free setup is perfect for extended periods of shooting with your DSLR or HD camera.
