I bought these not as a way to extend a backdrop to be wider but because the studs are stripped and no longer able to work with my backdrop system so this was the only way to add the stud back to my system. They do the job but since it is a separate item that's not permanently attached, it's worth noting that it's not going to be 100% stable. It may lean or tilt a bit with the wait of a backdrop and pole. But it does work and I'm glad I found a product like this because we customized out backdrop system to where it's not easy to re-purchase parts.
