The Kramer 840H HDMI Pattern Generator connects to any display with an HDMI input and sends patterns to the screen for the purposes of testing and adjustments. The Pattern Generator offers 32 different static and motion patterns in 11 output resolutions, including both common video and computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1080.
With its 32 patterns of various colors and shapes, the 840H can be used to test whether an LCD display's pixels all illuminate with the proper amounts of light, linearity, and high-frequency response. It can generate patterns that help verify whether a projector's colors are correct, and can aid in tuning the size, focus, and keystone of the picture. Test HDMI cables by assessing the quality of the colors they send to the screen. The 840H is also useful for testing the black level of a plasma monitor. Motion patterns aid in testing the refresh rates of LCD and plasma displays.
Part of Kramer's DigiTOOLS line, the compact 840H fits into a third of a single rack unit on a standard 19" rack, which means that three similar-sized devices can be installed side-by-side using the optional RK-3T adapter (not included).
