dbx 231s Reviews

Works great after five years

I have this as the sound processor for my kitchen system of JBL subwoofer and 2 JBL active monitors. I use it regularly and have had zero issues with its operation since putting it in service April 2017, now September 2022. This is not a critical listening area but it gets a lot of use. I detect no added noise. All controls work like new. I also have an older 215s and it too works just fine after years of service.

DBX 231s Equalizer

The unit I received happened to be faulty as one of the channels sounded horrible with static and loss of gain. I tried different cables, sources, etc... and it was definitely the unit in question. Not sure if this was a lack of QA on DBX's part or if it was perhaps dropped during delivery. The channel that did work sounded great so it's unfortunate that the 1st channel was messed up. I guess I just got unlucky. I returned the unit.
