The B+W 60mm MRC 103M Solid Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is an ND filter with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity. This filter features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well I use this filter during daytime use on my Noctilux f0.95 lens and it allows me to shoot wide open. The product is built well... I wish they still made the slim version though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prefer Heliopan My first time purchasing a B&W ND filter because there were only very few manufacturers that makes them in this filter size. If Hoya made them in this size I would have bought that brand, I'm sure it would be 1/3 he price or less. There was a strange purplish tint in my photos and it also seem to have a softening effect which I was not happy about. I returned it and got a Heliopan instead and I'm happy with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BW filter Use on my Noctilux for sunny day. It may be too dark for indoor use. Will get another regular UV filter for inside shooting. The filter has quality glass and heavy brass. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent option I have a Leica Noctilux and had tried a six-stop ND filter. In my opinion that's a bit of overkill and causes the lens to have to be shot too slow (30 sec.) for wide open shooting. However, using a three-stop ND filter gives one the benefit of wide open shooting and more practical speed (90 sec.).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must for Shooting Wide Open in Mid Day I use this filter with a 50mm f/0.95 lens to let me shoot wide open in mid day. The filter feels very sturdy and of high quality.
