The VariZoom VZ Pro-PZRI-3D clamps to a tripod handle and controls convergence, iris, zoom, focus, and record start/pause for the Panasonic AG-3DA1 integrated dual-lens camcorder. It controls lens and recording parameters not only for the stereoscopic 3D camcorder but for other Panasonic models as well (see Specifications for camera compatibility).
Housed in robust aluminum, the VZ Pro-PZFI-3D features a variable high-sensitivity zoom rocker and heavy-duty knobs for the other controls. Situated on the angled face of the controller, the convergence control (which sets the distance at which the two lenses' lines of sight meet) is an oversized aluminum knob with a spring-action return that makes it easy to set the convergence accurately by referring both to the "C" index numbers and the Mix feature on the 3DA1's video display.
Controls are spaced in such a way to allow for single-hand control over all supported functions. Record start/pause and the zoom rocker are situated comfortably at the thumb position, while iris, zoom, and convergence knobs and toggles are under the controller's handle, easily accessible with your index finger. So for instance, you can zoom with your thumb while pulling focus with your index finger.
