The Matrox DVI Plus HD-SDI Scan Converter allows broadcasters to embed the stereo audio input into the SDI output signal. It provides a progressive DVI-D input up to 1920x1200, and offers simultaneous analog/digital video output. Realtime upscaling and downscaling is possible with proper color space and aspect ratio conversion.

SD analog black burst (bi-level) or HD trilevel genlock is available with timing offset controls. The DVI Plus HD-SDI Scan Converter offers region-of-interest support with flexible scaling, positioning, and panning with realtime output update. Background color can be selected, such as super black and super white for downstream keying applications. It also has Proc Amp controls, and consists of features such as anti-flicker filter, customizable presets, password protection, and SD pixel aspect ratio compensation.

The DVI Plus HD-SDI Scan Converter has a hotkey-triggered output signal freeze/unfreeze. It can operate as a stand-alone device independent of a PC to deliver SDI and analog video.

DVI Plus HD-SDI Scan Converter is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality Converter I use the Matrox DVI Plus Converter to convert an HDMI camera to an HDSDI signal for my switcher to recognize and I need something with a reference input, so this really fits the bill. The picture quality is superb and the unit is physically durable and well made. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about is that there aren't instructions on how to set up the reference input and the software isn't really intuitive. I had to do some trial and error to get it to work properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked for my studio. It is pricey and the image clarity is a bit fuzzy = four stars. I am using this to run a signal from my Mac Mini to Sony MCS-8m switcher running at 720p/59.94 and it works just fine. Takes a moment to kick signal over after turning it on. It's been stable since August 2013.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work with my displays The plan was to use this product in line with my extended desktop monitor (Sony KDL-46XBR2 which is currently working with a DVI - HDMI adapter) and use the converted HD-SDI signal to use as an input to my router. The problem I had is with the DVI loop through on the Matrox. When in line with my extended desktop, the Sony monitor would say unsupported signal and I get no picture, I suspect it's not supporting HDCP. I had different results with a Panasonic BT-LH2550 and it's DVI input. It works fine in 1080i mode but will not sync up in 720p mode. The odd thing is that the DVI Loop did work with a computer display like a Samsung Sync Master 244T in either mode. The HD-SDI output signal worked in every scenario and picture quality was very good. I had some issues with the software driver as well. After installation and reboot I got the Blue Screen of Death. I rebooted again and the software loads and stay's resident which is not how I was intending to run it. I don't like software running when the equipment would rarely need changes after initial set up. I talked to Matrox tech support in regard to this DVI Loop issue I was having and the reply was that the DVI loop should have no effect on the signal and they were at a loss for a solution to my problem at this time. I have decided to return the product due to the incompatibility with my displays and the difficulty I had with the software installation.
