The DS16 16 x 16 Digital Snake System from Aviom uses one Aviom AN-16/i-M Mic Input Module on the stage side that can accept up to 16 microphone/line inputs. At the front of the house (FOH), the signals are output to the console via the Aviom AN-16/o v.4 Output Module. Returns are handled by the Aviom AN-16/i v.2 Input Module at FOH and by a second AN-16/o v.4 on the stage. All 32 channels are transmitted over a single CAT5e cable.
Each input channel on the AN-16/i-M contains a 3-segment level meter, a continuously variable gain knob, a phase reverse switch, 48V phantom power, and a rumble filter with an 85 Hz roll-off. Built-in Thru connections act as a digital splitter to allow the microphone input signals to be patched to other devices.
The 16 balanced outputs on the AN-16/o v.4 are provided via DB25 multi-pin connectors. The analog outputs can be set (per channel pair) to +24 dBu, +18 dBu, +4 dBu, or mic level.
The DS16 can easily be integrated with nearly any existing audio system. Since the system is modular, it can be expanded at any time by connecting additional I/O modules.
