Essentially it works....but it was disappointing to find the dimpled camera cushion material on the top surface had already come unstuck from the polycarb base before I opened the packet!Its hard to compare as I don't have another brand or bracket; it is going to do what I want it to do, simply hold flash slightly off camera.... but its a bit on the 'cheap' side.....and I've just noticed that its not in fact straight!...the beast has a curve in it so it doesn't sit totally flush along the camera base!So, it will do the job, but quality is a lower than expected.... would say it actually does the job, but it could be better...and for $ I guess its fair.....

I use this to hold my flash when I have the remote transmitter mounted on the camera. It takes the weight off the transmitter when tilting to vertical shots.
