The Panasonic SDR-H100 Camcorder puts standard definition recording and a multitude of features and functions in your hands without breaking the bank. The H100 also boasts an 80GB internal hard drive and the option to record to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards for hours upon hours of storage. In addition, features like 78x Enhanced zoom, optical image stabilization, and face detection all help to make your footage smooth and clear.
The camera has a 33mm wide-angle lens that lets you get more in each shot, while the zoom mic and wind noise canceller capture clear audio. Other features that help ease the recording process include shooting controls like Intelligent Auto which automatically picks the correct settings for any shooting situation. AF/AE Tracking optimizes focus and exposure on moving subjects to ensure a shot that will stand the test of the time. When it comes time to edit and share the H100 comes with Panasonic's VideoCam suite 3.5 software. With this software you can upload directly to sites like YouTube and Facebook without hassle. Other post-production options include archiving with an optional DVD burner and viewing on an optional VIERA TV directly from the SD card. The Zoom Mic function that links with the camera's zoom action has evolved even further. Compared to previous models, the noise-reducing performance is improved by 1/3 (-10dB). It lets you clearly record the sound of your target subject

The Wind Noise Canceller automatically detects and suppresses only wind noise. It lets you capture natural sounds with lifelike ambience even when shooting in windy conditions outdoors or by the sea

- Portrait:
Using the face as reference, the exposure is adjusted to capture faces beautifully. Focusing priority is also placed on the face, and the skin tone is smoothed
- Scenery:
The exposure is optimized to give you clear images, without blown highlights in strongly lit areas like the sky
- Spotlight:
For scenes with particularly strong contrast, such as when you're shooting a spot-lit area on a darkened stage. It captures the well-lit subject perfectly and prevents washed-out areas
- Low Light:
In dim lighting, the camcorder automatically switches to a slower shutter speed so that images across the entire frame are bright and easy to see
- 0.8 Second Quick Start:
Use Quick Start mode. You simply flip open the LCD and you're ready to shoot in just 0.8 second. When Eco mode is also used, the power turns off whenever the camcorder has not been operated for 5 minutes. This reduces wasted power consumption, and enables a longer battery life
Anti-Shock Shield:
- 1: The Drop Detect function senses if the camera is falling and moves the head away from the hard drive. Incorporating a 3D sensor, this function detects if the camera drops a distance of around 20cm and responds by automatically moving the head away from the hard drive. This helps protect the drive from damage
- 2: The Floating Structure protects the hard drive should the camera fall or be dropped. The four corners of the hard drive are covered with a thick protective gel that provides cushioning against vibration and impact
- 3: The Buffer Memory automatically backs up data. Even when the Drop Detect function activates and moves the head away from the hard drive, shooting can continue (as long as there is battery power). The joystick makes the camera much easier to use, letting you control all basic operations quickly. As you shoot, just watch the image in the monitor and follow the instruction guide. You can handle a number of operations quickly and easily, without even taking your eye off the subject
