Camera: Sony A6500 I bought this after trying a half-dozen cheaper adapters for my Voigtlander 28 mm F/2.8 Color-Skopar lens with VM mount. The problem with the cheaper adapters is they were not thick enough to support infinity focus. The flange focal length of Sony E-mount is 18.00 mm. The same for Leica is 27.8 mm. So the adapter must be 9.80 mm thick. This one came up short at 9.66 m, that's a canyon in the world of precision optics. When I focused at 10 feet the lens says 7 ft, and infinity is more like 5 meters. Setting the lens against the hard stop at infinity lets the photographer know the lens is focused and ready for pictures at any range beyond 5 or so meters, depending on F stop. That's how one uses a manual focus lens for everyday carry. So I returned this, bought the much cheaper and more attractive TT Artisans adapter. That adapter is also not correct, but it was so cheap I could risk taking it apart to add shims to increase thickness. And it worked. And you know what - the 28 mm F/2.8 Color-Skopar is a really nice lens on the Sony A6500, small and takes great sharp photos. I can throw it at infinity focus, know it's there and take pictures like a tourist without focusing, unless I need a close up. Voightlander actually made that lens with the correct flange focal length for Leica, 27.8 mm. To bad they could not follow through with the expensive adapter.
I use this adapter to mount the Leica lenses to a Sony a7II body. It is an extremely well made adapter with tight tolerances and beautiful fit and finish. There is nothing I can find wrong with the adapter.
