As this is a Studio Stereo Mic. Does that mean that, when wearing headphones, you can hear the sound from either side of your head? E.g. If I click my fingers on the right hand side of the mic, I'll hear the click in my right ear, not my left or visa versa?

Is the mic compatible with Windows 7 right out of the box with no driver?
No, the Samson Meteor USB Mic does require installation of universal drivers which enable compatibility with Windows 7. The drivers will install the first time you plug the Meteor Mic into the USB port on your computer while connected to the internet.

Using a USB 2.0 mini b 5 pin to mini b 5 pin male/male cable could you connect the meteor mic to a Tascam DR-40 and record audio into the Tascam?
This USB microphone only works when directly connected to a computer, you can not connect to a audio recorder such as the Tascam DR-40, the recorder has a usb on the side however that's only to transfer files to a computer or power the unit with a battery pack It's not a usb microphone input.
