7.2 Surround Sound
A realistic, cinematic experience is yours with the 100-watts per channel HT-RC370 that offers support for a 7.2 system. It can provide enveloping surround sound for your favorite movies, and can offer high fidelity audio for your favorite music as well to create compelling, emotional entertainment experiences. Since it is also armed with dual subwoofer pre-outs, you can enjoy additional heart-pumping bass to support your movies and music.
7 HDMI 1.4a Inputs With 3D and ARC
An array of connectivity options includes 7 HDMI 1.4a (one on the front panel), 2 component video, one PC hookup, and four composite video inputs with one output for each. If you're connecting by HDMI, the 1.4a specification means this receiver can carry 3D video and an Audio Return Channel (ARC). If you also have a 3D-ready display, 3D-ready cable and 3D glasses, you're on your way to enjoy wraparound visuals with 3D Blu-ray discs and gaming. Support for ARC means you can send audio data from your TV "upstream" to the receiver to eliminate the need for a separate audio connection.
Marvell Qdeo 4K Upscaling
The HT-RC370 can upscale your standard video source materials like 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i/p all the way up to 4K x 2K (3840 x 2160). Upscaling is powered by a video chip from Marvell Qdeo, a video processor that utilizes algorithms designed to eliminate video noise and artifacts like "jaggies" and feathering. If you have a compatible widescreen display, this means your Blu-ray discs and DVDs will achieve more detail and cinematic picture quality.
Stream PC Audio and Internet Radio
This receiver connects to your home internet connection or home PC. It provides access to internet radio sources like Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, Slacker, Sirius Internet Radio, MediaFly and vTuner with high fidelity audio reproduction. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 platform and includes a DLNA certification for media streaming.
Audyssey DSX and Dolby Dolby Pro Logic IIz
With support for Audyssey DSX, you can incorporate "front wide" speakers in place of surround back speakers to achieve a wider soundstage. Audyssey DSX can also reconfigure this receiver's surround back channels to offer "front height" channels. These can carry ambient non-directional audio for a new vertical dimension to your movies and games. Dolby Pro Logic IIz offers a similar "front height" speaker option that works to give you an even more immersive home theater experience.
Four DSP Audio Gaming Modes
This receiver also offers four different DSPs for different types of video games. Choose from rock, sports, action and role playing modes to customize your gaming experience whether you're playing 3D or 2D games.
Audyssey MultEQ XT Room Correction and Speaker Calibration
Audyssey MultEQ XT is an advanced resolution room correction solution with high resolution equalization filters to overcome the acoustical challenges specific to your listening environment. This allows you to hear clear and balanced audio customized to your space.
iPod Ready via USB or Optional Dock
The USB port offers a direct digital connection for your iPod, or you can plug it into the optional iPod dock (UP-A1) to incorporate your portable music library. If you want to experience HD Radio you can purchase the Onkyo HD Radio receiver (UP-HT1) which also plugs into the universal port. HD Radio is an additional signal that both AM and FM stations can include along with their convention broadcasts. The content can be anything from news to music to tags that can tell you the title and artist of a song that's playing.
