Auray MS-5230T Reviews
love the sturdy tight clamp
I'm a visual artist and I bought this mic stand to hold my iphone when taking photos of art in progress on my workbench. I'd had trouble with a different brand whose knob at the pivot point holding the boom wouldn't stay tight. The knob on the Auray stand tightens up nicely and stays in place even when I put the boom at a nearly 90 degree angle to the pole. I really appreciate the help that B&H staff gave me in selecting this stand.
Broke on first use
This is a cheap stand. It broke on its first use. The stand doesn't tight and is unusable. Make yourself a favor and put some extra dollars to buy a proper mic stand!
All good here:
The packaging was very well done. The tripod was nicely laid in the box. This is a really good tripod for just about any microphone. All I'd have to say is watch out with heavier microphones. But this holds on be the well has a lot of adjustability, looks very nice, and is very slim so it gives plenty of room.
Standard
Microphones feel secure
Ok for the price
Small and light, works fine, stable enough. Tighten with care for best results.
Three problems with three stands...
I purchased three stands. One had the chrome handle fail on the boom arm, shortly after purchasing. The other two developed problems tightening the center mast at the base. Wouldn't clamp down and wouldn't twist out to remove. Efforts at warranty repair on all three yielded an RMA for only two. Consider buying extra mic stands so you have something to use when you send failed units back.
Great
Shipped on time. Works as it should
Worth it to the price
It works very well with my big condenser microphone. Using the first part of the extension is also good to counter balance with the stand.
