    Ruggard HFV-230 reviews

HFV-230 Protective Camera Case is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ruggard Protective Camera Case I inspect construction sites. This hard case protects my Nikon perfectly. It has a heavy stitched belt loop that I assure you will not tear loose. My favorite feature is a built in pocket to keep the camera from sliding out sideways, even if I leave the case unzipped. Also has a small loop stitched into the top where I can attach a retractable to my camera. Tuff case, well designed. Buy one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whats with the zips - resolved After the staff at B&H and the Ruggard manufacturers read my previous posting (3/22/15), they identified the zipper problem. They have been wonderful in contacting me and sending a new case. It nicely fits my Sony RX-100m2. Thanks again for the follow through on service, the reason I keep coming back to B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have item with a perfect fit This rugged case is a perfect fit for the Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100 camera. The camera fits snugly and doesn't vibrate when the case with camera is shaken. It has an internal mesh pocket which fits an extra battery and flash card. I feel this a must have for any high priced small point and shoot for the following reasons. I once had a Sony Alpha 900 camera (top of the line full frame pro camera) with a magnesium alloy body which is a lightweight solid material. I had it on a tripod and while in a hurry I dropped it. The body cracked and the camera wouldn't function. Sony couldn't repair it. You may think your $700-$1200 point and shoot is very durable but you should not take the chance. I am 64 years old and sometimes when in a rush can drop things and a small camera such as my Sony DSC RX100 is much easier to drop than a full frame DSLR which is generally worn with a camera strap and fits the hand better. Buy this Ruggard case and you will like it. Lastly, it has a belt loop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Sony DSC-RX100 even w/attached grip B&H helpfully bundled this case with my Sony DSC-RX100 II camera. That saved me figuring out which cases fit the camera. In fact it can hold the camera with Sony's grip accessory attached, which together won't fit into Sony's own case. This case is sturdy, protective, and makes me feel like a casual traveler rather than a target with my DSLR bag. It has a belt loop and a neck strap. What more could you want?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and reassuring i keep my Canon S100 at my side all the time. Unlike the form-fitting case this one replaces, the zipper is robust, and there is room in the case for both the camera's wrist loop and an extra battery. The case comes with a neck strap, which I would describe as sturdy and a good length, if I used neck straps. The belt loop is also sturdy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durable, but too large for traveling This case is well made and very durable. The outside is firm enough to keep it's shape even when put under significant pressure. I wanted to use it as a holder for my camera, ID, and credit cards while traveling. Sadly, it was too large for my camera (Sony RX100) and my pocket. It was uncomfortable and bulky. Eventually I ditched the case in favor of a wallet and camera wrapped in a cloth sunglasses case. I would buy from this manufacturer again, however, I would not buy this case as it was too large for my needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loop for lanyard tore quickly The case seems it will do a good job protecting my camera, but the first time the loop for connecting the lanyard saw any stress it failed. The lanyard can still be tied to the belt loop which appears stronger. I can't complain much because B&H threw it in for free with my camera purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Protection I purchased this case for a three month trip to southern Mexico and Guatemala to protect a point-and-shoot camera. I never had a single problem with the camera as the case provided excellent protection. The case was light enough to comfortably rest in my pocket but sturdy enough to protect the often-fragile lens of the point-and-shoot. It soldiered through all sorts of weather and climatic difficulties as well as the rigors of travel. Certainly no cons that I could find in 3 months of daily travails.
