The Series 9 Double Fog 1 Filter from Formatt recreates the look of being outside in a heavy fog. This effect differs from a standard fog filter in that it does not generate the warmish, romantic glow that the standard version does. You'll find that most objects shot with a Double Fog remain sharp, however, contrast will be significantly reduced. Highlights will not flare to any appreciable degree.
A #1 Double Fog is the first full step that is available for this filter. Fog appears heavier; highlights will flare a bit but not as much as you might experience from a Standard Fog Filter. Contrast continues to be lowered. An impressionistic feeling begins to be apparent but the image does not appear to be overall embellished or diffused.
