This is a 25-sheet box of 5 x 7" Direct Positive Fiber Based (FB) Paper from HARMAN technology. It is a fun paper that can be used for many purposes. For the pinhole enthusiast, this paper is the answer to achieving a finished, positive print without the need of a traditional negative or inter-negative. This paper can also be used in large format photography or even when cut into small sheets for LOMO-type cameras.

As a creative tool, Direct Positive Paper can be used in the creation of interesting photograms of everyday items. Just cut it up into whatever size you need and you're ready to make an exposure. Finally, you can also use this paper as a traditional printing paper using a negative.

Multiple use paper for everything from pinhole to large format and LOMO photography
Does not require the need for a negative
Fully compatible with conventional black and white paper processing chemistry
Available in a glossy surface (comparable to Ilford Multigrade IV RC Glossy) and a Luster surface (comparable to Ilford Multigrade IV RC Pearl)
Fixed grade, high contrast paper (similar to Ilford Multigrade grade 3.5 - 4), but still capable of generating good tonal gradations when 'pre-flashed' during exposure stages

I enjoy shooting with the direct positive paper because it gets me back shooting my 4x5 and not having to wait for film processing because I can develop in my diy darkroom. That being said I’ve found that the papers preference is to shoot in more even light versus harsh lighting with wide tonal values, which for me throws out the zone system.

Positive results with 4x5 paper negative... First time using this process. Nice sharp contrast. Next batch I will flash the paper to see softer image.

The sunny 16 rule suggests an ISO 2 film on a sunny day would be exposed at 1/2 second at f/16 for an average scene.

A Ilford Red 915 works fine for me but Ilford does recommend the darker 906. Always best to test.

Can I use Ilford WASHAID to shorten the rinse time from 1 hour? I'm using Ilford DEV, STP, & FIX.. in trays

I use vinegar 50 percent and then warm water, I put a little dish soap and 15 minutes or less, and my paper is clear, have spots when I only use water as a stop, hope it helps

Yes. I've used the standard Caffenol recipe for 5-10minutes at room temperature. More experimentation is warranted, but it certainly works.

Can you leave this paper after exposing in the fridge for a period of time before developing? Not near a darkroom

You can hold off processing the HARMAN technology Direct Positive Fiber Based (FB) Paper (Glossy, 4 x 5", 25 Sheets). But do not do that for long times. It is best to process right away but you can wait a few days or so.
