The T. Flight HOTAS X from Thrustmaster is a programmable joystick and throttle that is compatible with PCs and PS3 systems for realistic flight simulation. It conveniently plugs directly into the USB port on your system for instant takeoff. The HOTAS (Hands on Throttle and Stick) joystick features a large throttle that you can use to control the acceleration of your aircraft. The throttle is detachable, so you can detach it to re-create authentic piloting conditions.

Depending on your style of gaming, you might like an ultra-sensitive joystick that responds to slight touches. With a firmer joystick, it offers more resistance when you move it. The resistance of the T. Flight HOTAS X is adjustable in order to adapt to your personal preferences.

With the rudder function, a plane corresponds to the pedals used by the pilot to turn the steering, allowing the plane to pivot around its vertical axis to run the plane left or right. The rudder function is accessible on the joystick or via the rocking button on the throttle. On Playstation 3 and PC in "4 axes" mode, the rocking button is combined with the handle's rotation. On a PC in "5 axes" mode, the rocking button is independent of the handle's rotation and therefore provides an additional progressive axis.

When you're in the middle of a crucial operation, seeing your placement is important. The joystick features a POV hat switch to let you instantly view everything that's going on around your plane, in games that support this function. Different views are programmable like rear, left, right and external views.

Inside the joystick, an internal chip saves all of your "MANUAL PRESET" programming even when the joystick is switched off or disconnected. You can save a different manual preset for each platform used. With the "MAPPING" button, you perform programming like switching the position of buttons, switching axes between themselves or switching the two directions of the same axis.

Throttle control is realistically sized, detachable and ergonomically designed
Plug-and-Play connection makes it easy to install with all functions pre-configured for immediate take-off
Trigger for brakes (civil flight) for rapid fire (military flight) and multi-directional hat (panoramic view)
MAPPING button allows for all functions to be switched around between each other
PRESET button lets you switch from one program to another while playing
Dual system aerodynamic control by rotating the handle (with integrated blocking system) or by progressive tilting lever
High precision joystick features adjustable resistance
Internal memory allows you to save your programming even when the joystick is disconnected
12 buttons are programmable and 5 axles are entirely programmable
Wide hand rest offers optimal comfort while you're in flight

    T. Flight HOTAS X is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Flight Stick The T. Flight HOTAS X is a quality flight stick at an affordable price. It come with no software, it's completely plug and play through the USB plug. So no worries about installation or annoying updates. The 18 cord connects the throttle to the joystick which is plenty of room to maneuver the unit between your thighs and position the throttle on a small table to your left just like a real cockpit if you want to. The base is solid and overall the ergonomics is superb and feels right in your hands. There's an adjustable knob at the bottom of the joystick to change the resistance of the play to the user's preference. There are programmable 14-buttons and a hat on top of the joystick. And I use them all. Overall, it's an excellent buy for under $50.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Lot for the Money 5 Stars is given for overall performance for price. This a $ joystick with much better ergonomics than other in the price range. Everything works as advertised. I have been using it with Elite Dangerous on a Windows 8.1 custom machine. Drivers downloaded and installed automatically and all buttons were programmable within Elite Dangerous.0% Throttle is a little hard to get at first without looking at the on screen HUD.It's made of plastic, feels like it's made of plastic, BUT doesn't feel like anything is going to break. For $ it's cheap enough where buying another one isn't going to kill you if it happens to break, but it feels like it will last a while.Great stick overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bargain HOTAS 5 stars considering price (and it was on sale at the time). The conjoined setup is pointless, you will typically use these split apart (the cord joining the two is just adequate in length). Make sure the Home button is green to use the odd throttle rudder as a separate control (I find it handy for zooming in a flight sim). The stick rudder (Z twist) works fine. Could use another POV hat (mini-joystick)--the throttle would be a perfect spot--and another button or two on the stick, but hey, it's under $50. The feel is good (adjustable stick stiffness is a neat bonus), the bases are heavy-ish and stable. I bought one for a friend. Again, I didn't end up using the included software as standard Windows (XP) control was fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stick for the money The Thrustmaster T. Flight HOTAS perfroms way above its paygrade. Yes it's plastic, no it doesn't weigh a ton, but it doesn't move around during use. The feel of the stick and throttle are great, with the stick's resistance being adjustable via a knob on its underside. Button placement is great, and the built in button mapping means you get the controls you want, where you want them, even on games that dont allow custom mapping. I love that the throttle seperates from the stick, but the cable between them could have been a bit longer. It is juuuust long enough to allow my keyboard to sit between, so larger setups will be out of luck. Overall, its 10% less stick for 1/2 or 1/3 the competition's price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great controls for space simulations. I bought the T. Flight HOTAS X especially to play Elite: Dangerous. It is a really great control system for the game, allowing full control of all essential controls with room to spare. The stick moves very smoothly. The only downside is that it is a little light, and if you turn up the stick resistance that could cause the stick to lift off of the desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent joystick & Great support I bought one of these new. After 6 months the twist axis on the stick quit working. Thrustmaster quickly determined it was a hardware problem and I had a another new one on my doorstep in 2 days. This stick is very responsive and works great with all my flight sim games. I highly recommend this product. Buy one, and enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Joystick I use this joystick to play Hawx on PS3. It was very easy to set up with the PS3. When I use it to play the game it feels very realistic. The joystick itself is very responsive to every move. I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a good joystick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elite: Dangerous Never Felt So Good Didn't want to spend $+ for a HOTAS, so I picked this guy up. Thankfully, B&H had them in stock for less than $.You know the specs, so, here's some pros and cons:Pros:* Weighted Base* Enough easily accessible buttons to handles tons of functions* Throttle has a clear deadzoneCons:* Maybe it's just me, but there appears to be a deadzone with the stick - mushy is the wrong word, but it feels like there is a millimeter or two in either direction on x and y axes before it begins to register. Took me a day to adapt, now I don't notice it* The cable connecting the throttle and stick is short- I have a Razer Black Widow Ultimate and the cable is barely, barely long enough to have the throttle on the left of the keyboard and the stick on the right. I moved the mouse to the right of the stick and it solved the issue. At the end of the day, for the price, 5 stars.
